We are committed to change politics in Australia
Voices of Geelong is a thinktank assisting our two local electoral campaigns: Voices of Corio and Voices of Corangamite.

Now is our moment in history
With seven Community Independents elected in 2022 to represent their local constituents in Parliament, our movement aims to at least double that number at the next federal election, which is due within the next 12 months.
Transform how we do politics
More independent voices in Parliament will rewrite and transform the next decades for Australian politics – and improve our laws.
Bold emissions reductions
The flow of money from coal, oil and gas companies to political parties – also known as ‘state capture’ – must end.
The right values at the right place
Strong community-driven representation in Federal Parliament based on values of integrity, transparency and gender equality.
We cover the Geelong, Bellarine and Surf Coast regions
Next time voters in Corangamite and Corio go to the polling booths, we think they should have the choice to vote for a Community Independent candidate.
Corio
- Current representative: Richard Marles, Labor
- Approximately 100,000 voters
- Marles received 40% of votes in 2022
- Corio electorate will expand to include parts of the current Lalor electorate to the east and parts of Corangamite to the west

Corangamite
- Current representative: Libby Coker
- Approximately 100,000 voters
- Labor and Liberal both has a very narrow margin
- Corangamite electorate area will shrink due to population growth in areas like Armstrong Creek, the Surf Coast, and the Bellarine Peninsula

“When enough people come together then change will come and we can achieve almost anything. So instead of looking for hope – start creating it.”
